Our concept includes a network map to identify the closest nurses to the patients, making the everyday tasks easier and feasible. We propose developing a database for NHS, linking the nurses’ and patients’ data. This will result in more efficient nurse and patient interaction due to the close proximity of the nurse and availability of the data online.
Extending Independent Living
Elderly people are a large and growing segment of our population. It is important to address the issue of independent living because it is predicted that between 2008 and 2033 there will be a 38% increase in the number of people aged between 75 and 84 who live alone. It can also be noted that most elderly people are uncomfortable with change. Despite the availability of technologically advanced services and products in the market, the elderly find it difficult to adapt them in their daily lives. Our aim is to propose simple additions to an elderly person’s life that will enable them to live independently as long as possible, while keeping them connected to their loved ones. We aim to create a holistic system comprising of products and services, making the lives of the elderly and their intimate connections easier.
